Change wheel Bearings at least twice a year, and play will affect handling and can affect steering at high speed situations. With your tires off the ground press the top of the tire left and right of the bike, ANY movement means its time for a change. Make sure to repack the bearings yourself with hihigh-qualityrease, and about every 5 rides repair the bearings again, water and debris can get in there when washing or in wet conditions.
Heim Joints & Linkage are one of the most neglected parts of your dirt bike. Pressure washing and riding in wet conditions will severely affect suspension performance as the bearings can lose their lubrication dry up and bind, creating excess play and limiting the suspensions performance. We have seen bikes with linkage so bad the rear end felt as if the shock was set for a 300lbs rider when in fact all bearings were just seized solid! Hard tail dirt bike anyone?
