EVENT INFO & FAQ

What do I get if I win Red Bull Outliers?
The winner of each professional and ameteur class will receive a cash prize.
How many races will there be per day?
There will be 37 races between the two day event. 34 races will be on Day 1 and three races on Day 2.
Are there restrictions on which bikes are allowed to compete?
There are no specific restrictions; however we do ask the following:
Bikes must be technically sound and in good working order
No special equipment (lights, registration, spark arrestors,etc.) are required. However, the head referees may request corrections as they see fit.
Sound testing will not be implemented. However, the head referees may request corrections as they see fit.
Competitors must use the same bike throughout the entire competition.
Number plate decals will be provided for each participant . These must be prominently displayed on the front and each side plate .
Official scoring will be performed utilizing transponders. Transponder rentals will be available at sign-in.
Riders with their own transponders must bring to sign-in to provide transponder number.
How many people are in each qualifier?
There will be 8-10 riders in each qualifer.

Is Red Bull Outliers a part of World Enduro Super Series?

Red Bull Outliers is not currently apart of the World Enduro Super Series.

 

Is there an age limit to be eligible to compete?

There is an age limit to the event. All participants must be 16 or older to compete.

 

Are all levels of riders able to compete?

There are four different categories that riders will be able to compete in: Professional, Expert, Ameteur and Veteran.

 

What does my registration fee include?
The registration fee includes the following: race entry, bib number, goggle bag and bid.

Are spectators allowed onsite?
Spectators are encouraged on both days of Red Bull Outliers.

Will food and drink be served?
Food and drinks will be available onsite for purchase
How much is registration?
Registration is $100, and that includes both days.
Is there a riders pit?
There will be a riders pit at both locations.

Is this a ticketed event?
Both days of the event are free for spectators. If you would like to compete in the event, there is a $100
registration fee.

Is there a beer garden?
Yes, there will be a beer garden.

Are you able to watch the event from the beer garden?
Yes, you will be able to view the event from the beer garden.

Where can I park?
Day 1, September 28th, Eau Claire Market, parking will street paid parking,
Day 2, September 29th, Steveville Alberta , parking will be free.

Where can I watch the race?
Red Bull Outliers will not be on TV or streamed online, so come watch in person!

Can I compete in the race?
If you are 16+ you are able to register for Red Bull Outliers. There are four different categories that riders will be able to compete in: Professional, Expert, Ameteur and Veteran.

What can I expect to see at the race?
You can expect to see an exciting and unique head-to-head enduro competition.

RACE INFORMATION 

RACE CLASSES
There are four different categories that riders can compete in: Professional, Expert, Amateur, and Veteran. Read below for category descriptions:
  • Professional: Previously competed in a professional sanctioned event
  • Expert: Riders with advanced skill level and previous competition experience (Note: Professional licensed riders are not eligible)
  • Amateur: Riders with moderate skill level and some competition experience
  • Veteran: 35 years of age and older on the date of event
BIKE REQUIREMENTS
There are no specific restrictions; however we do ask the following:
  1. Motorcycles must be technically sound and in good working order
  2. Special equipment (lights, registration, spark arrestors,etc.) is not required. However, the head referees may request equipment adjustments as they see fit
  3. Sound testing will not be implemented. However, the head referees may request adjustments as they see fit
  4. Competitors must use the same motorcycle throughout the entire competition
  5. Number plate decals will be provided for each participant. These must be prominently displayed on the front and each side plate
  6. Official scoring will be performed utilizing transponders

RACE RULES
  • Riders meeting is mandatory
  • If a rider cuts the course they will be penalized or disqualified at the discretion of the head referee
  • If a rider exits the course they will be penalized or disqualified at the discretion of the head referee
  • If a participant accepts outside assistance from anyone other than the track crew or fellow competitors they will be penalized or disqualified at the discretion of the head referee
  • Results will be posted within 30 minutes of race completion
  • Result protests allowed within 30 minutes of result posting
  • 1st gear in pits and helmets while in motion are mandatory
  • Be safe and use common racing sense
PROTECTION & SAFETY
The following are the minimum requirements to compete; however, additional safety gear is recommended. Proper selection of helmet and safety apparel is the riders responsibility.
Mandatory:
  • A helmet must be worn at all times when operating a motorcycle during the event and in the pits. Helmets must be certified by the manufacturer to meet or exceed the Department of Transportation (DOT) FMVSS 218
  • Eye protection in the form of shatterproof goggles or safety glasses
  • Full length protective motocross, or off-road riding pants
  • Protective boots that are at least 8” high for adults
Highly Recommended:
  • Knee guards
  • Long sleeved shirt, jersey, and/or jacket
  • Chest protector and elbow guards

DAY 1

Race Format:
  • Knockout Bracket Race for Day Purse/Prizing
  • Results will be used to determine Day 2 start position
Schedule:

Volunteer Check-in 9:00 AM – 9:30AM
Riders Meeting @ Paddock 9:45 AM
Practice session – 15 min per class 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Round #1 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Round #2 1:00 PM – 2:00PM
FINALS 2:00 PM – 3:00PM

DAY 2

Race Format:
  • Competition will consist of 3 races of increasing time and difficulty
  • Overall classification will be determined by adding points won by each rider during each of the three events:

Final classification will be made by adding points won by each rider during each of the three finals. A tie at the end of the event will be decided by most of the best final placings, precedence being given to the rider having the greatest number of 1st, 2nd 3rd etc. places. If a further tie exists, riders will be classified in order, by the better placing in the 3rd final, in the 2nd final, or in the first final.
Races:
  1. Sprint Race – Competitors will start in rows of 10 riders according to Day 1 race results
  2. Circadian Race – Competitors gate pick will be according to Sprint Race #1 results
  3. Outliers Finale Race – Competitors gate pick will be according to Circadian Race #2 results
