“Roots of Doom kicked off hare scramble season to a great start on Vancouver Island. Over 120 adults and 21 youth show up despite the torrential downpours of the previous days. The course was fast and flowy with enough gnarly sections to remind racers they’re on the west coast. A fair amount of movement was seen in the classes this year which stoked some new competition and opened up the amateur ranks.
