Silver Star in British Columbia is hosting the FINAL round of the Canadian Cross Country Championship CXCC-West Series. Here are 8 Key Things you need to know before you embark on an awesome weekend of dirt bike racing!

The Masters & PROs Class has a tight chase for first with Albertan Kevin Dupuis (HSQ) in 1st at 60Points, Luke Sydor (YAM) just 3 points back and Trystan Hart at 10 points back as he missed the Dirty Moose Round in Alberta.

Vet Expert A Has a tight battle with just 1 separating Stephen Foord (BTA) and Micheal Dobovich (KTM) which would be the Battle of Alberta in the AA top tier for Veterans.

Womens Expert has Melissa Harten (BTA) with a comfortable Lead of 13 points over Jannie Devin-Lamontagne (HSQ)

EXPERT Owen Mckill Has an almost guaranteed win with a 10 point lead having made all 3 rounds with Pete Keeping of Alberta With only making 2 rounds but had 2 wins for round 2 and 3.

SUPER SENIOR – David Sheridan (KTM) of Alberta just 2 points up from Mike Schmidt who only made 2 of the 4 rounds so far this year.

FAMILY FUN RIDE INFORMATION Saturday AM 

  1. Family Fun Ride (FFR) is a guided tour of various roads and trails around the mountain.
    The route will be dependent on group ability.
  2. Fee for FFR is $20 per person or $40 for a Family.
  3. FFR Registration, Pit Lane main camping area 0800 to 0900.
  4. FFR runs 0930 to 1130.
  5. If you have entered and signed your waiver you can ride your bike from Pb and Pc to the staging area near Pit Lane. 1st gear ride slow!!

Camping INFO

  1. Camping in area shown with the tent and Pc.
  2. First come first serve. The area with tent has power.
  3. $40 per night power sites, $25 per night all others.

  5. Fee includes access to National Altitude Training Center washrooms and showers.
  6. Pit Lane for HS runs down the middle of main camping area. There is lots of room for this.
  7. HS start is between the main camping area and the First Aid Logo.

NO KIDS RACES – Kids can do the Family Run Ride! – 

  • Sorry there is no kid’s race at the Rev Limiter. Opportunities for the kids will be The Family Fun Ride.
  • Absolutely no pit riding of any kind.
  • Bring their BMX or Mountain Bike as the Kids Pump Track will be open all weekend. They will sleep well after a day of peddling the Pump Track
  • Pump track located lower right corner of Pb.
  • No motorcycles on Pump Track, bicycles only!!
  • Junior Under Class in the Hare Scramble is available for more experienced young riders.

SORRY NO WARM UP RIDING OF ANY KIND

  • Pre-Registration Saturday NATC 7PM-830PM **Poster shows Town Hall however, now National Altitude Training Center**
  • Race day Registration Scoring Tent Pit Lane 0730 to 0900.
  • Parking for racers and spectators in Pb, main lot.
  • Start area between Pit Lane and Village.
  • If you have entered and signed your waiver you can ride your bike from Pb and Pc to the start area. 1st gear ride slow!!
  • B riders meeting 930am, start 10am, 1hr 30 min cut off.
  • B Riders do the outside two lanes of EX. Easy out option is push bike dead engine around the perimeter of the EX course.
  • A Riders meeting 12PM, start 1230, 2hr 30min cut off.
  • A Riders will do all of the Eundrocross course, no easy out.
  • There will be two short A sections added in the afternoon race. Loop is approximately 30K for A and B.
  • Course is as varied as it gets, fast cat track, flowy cross country ski trails, tight single track and the feature of the Endurocross course.
  • Recommended tire for the event is medium compound.
  • No riding around the parking area. Ride directly to the start.
  • Race Payout purse
    Masters/PRO $2500 – 1st $1250 2nd $750 3rd $500
    Expert Women $1250 – 1st $625 2nd $375 3rd $250
  • Awards to follow event at Red Antler shooting for 5:30pm hours.

ENDUROCROSS INFORMATION

  • Race purse is $1500 Men and $750 Women.

  • Pre-Registration at www.pnwma.com
  • Race day Registration Pit Lane Main Camping area 0700 to 0900.
  • Classes Expert, Intermediate, Vet 30+, Junior, Women, Trials.
  • Heat races and schedule will be decided after sign up dependent on number of entrants in each class.
  • Be ready to practice or race right after sign up Saturday morning.
  • The course has 4 lanes. Lanes 1&4 are easier than 2&3.
  • Jr or Women don’t be afraid to enter! Heat races will be on 1&4 lanes for Jr and Women! Finals will be all 4 lanes.
  • The course is at E Lot furthest lot from the Village.
  • No parking on the entrance road to E Lot. Spectator beer garden will be there
  • You can unload at E Lot. Park smart to make room for everyone.
  • If entered and signed your waiver you can ride your bike from Pb and Pc past the pond to E Lot. Transfer trail will be marked. 1st gear ride slow!! Respect the residents and spectators.
  • The course has 16 obstacles similar to last year however a bit more space between obstacles and some new ones
  • There will be time for track walk and practice laps after sign up.
  • There will be a designated warm-up area for riders. No riding anywhere outside of the designated warm-up area.
  • Race purse: Expert 750/450/300 Women’s 375/225/150
  • Awards to follow event at Red Antler.

CRITICAL SAFETY RULES

  1. NO OPERATION OF MOTORCYCLES OTHER THAN TO AND FROM AN EVENT.
  2. Try yoga to warm up it works
  3. You cannot ride to your event until you have entered, signed a waiver and have your ticket attached in a visible location.
  4. Helmets must be worn at all times when riding.
  5. When you do transfer to an event it is 1st gear only dead slow!
  6. To access Family Fun Ride you can ride your bike from Pb and camping areas.
  7. To access the Endurocross, either unload your bike at Pe or ride from Pb and Pc past the pond. This trail will be marked. Remember the 1st gear rule!

THINK OF THE MOUNTAIN AS A RESIDENTIAL AREA. MANY WHO LIVE HERE DO NOT RIDE MOTORCYCLES, WE MUST THINK OF THEIR SAFETY AND RESPECT THEIR SPACE.

We actually don’t know if this is 8 things but it was better than 5 and 7 is like the lucky number, so this is what you get!
